Norman was out bird watching when he last saw Elizabeth Killingsworth alive around 3:45 PM; he passed by the farmhouse and overheard her talking to Dr. Chelsea Barren about her book.
Norman had just finished a business phone call in the study when he saw Kathryn Lawless approach Michael Nightshade. Michael was sitting in his car just outside the study window. Norman heard bits and pieces of a hushed conversation and is certain that he heard Michael Nightshade say, “Are you sure about this, Aunt Kathryn?” She then handed him a small pill bottle.
Norman was bird watching most of the afternoon. He was in the rose garden around 5:30PM when he saw his wife flirting & kissing Enrique. He was later out in the grape fields when he noticed the wine vault lights flicker and go out. He thought it was odd, but then heard Vicki screaming. Norman ran inside the wine vaults from the back door, but soon got lost in the labyrinth of halls. He did not find Vicki until he came back into the Farmhouse and saw the other guests.
Vicki last saw Elizabeth Killingsworth alive during lunch. She spent much of the day by herself, but she did meet with Norman for a short while in their bedroom at 2:00 PM to vent about Elizabeth not giving her a loan.
Vicki sat with Kathryn Lawless on the back porch for a short time and the discussion turned toward life-goals. Vicki told Kathryn that she would like to go to Hollywood and become a star – if only she were not burdened with a husband and two kids. Kathryn seemed to lose herself, and she told Vicki of her similar dream of getting out of this small town to live an exciting life – and that she was going to do something about it. She did not elaborate, though. She only grinned and laughed – almost maniacally.
At 5:30 PM, Vicki was by the fountain in the rose garden with Enrique Graves and they began talking and flirting. Soon the situation became passionate and they started kissing. Vicki left soon afterward, however, deciding to meet up with Enrique later that evening after Norman fell asleep. By 6:00 PM, Vicki had left the rose garden to change clothes.
At about 6:45 PM, Vicki decided to go find Enrique again. She did not see him outside, so she decided to check the wine vaults. As she was making her way down the labyrinth of halls, she suddenly ran into Enrique. At the same time she saw him, however, she heard a loud popping sound. The lights flickered and went out. Vicki screamed. She does not remember what happened after that until she found herself back at the Farmhouse with the rest of the guests.
