Norman D’Adly
Khaki pants, casual shirt, understated belt, hiking shoes, relaxed hair, binoculars in hand.
Who He Is:
Norman grew up in the same city (Jersey City, New Jersey) as Elizabeth. It was through her that he met her sister, Vicki. Norman and Vicki instantly fell in love and eloped as soon as she turned 18. He currently works – overworks actually –as a real estate broker in New York City. He and Vicki have decided to take a vacation to get away from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives and maybe even fall in love all over again.
For the last week, Norman & Vicki have been traveling around the country in their new RV. They arrived at Killingsworth Farms yesterday to visit Elizabeth.
In his spare time, Norman is an amateur ornithologist. He almost never goes out without binoculars and looks forward to looking around Killingsworth Farms for interesting birds.
His Darker Side:
He feels trapped in his current life. He married Vicki so young… Actually, he first dated her sister, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a virgin and would not let him get past first base. Elizabeth’s sister, Vicki, however, was quite different – she exuded sexuality. It was not long before Vicki seduced him. After Vicki became pregnant, however, they eloped and have been together ever since. He knows that when Vicki stole him from Elizabeth, it tore the two apart and they have not spoken since.
Norman travels around with his binoculars to look at birds, but uses the binoculars for so much more. He and Vicki are not close at all, so he must get his sexual thrills wherever way he can – a little voyeurism here, an affair there… As for this vacation, it is not really a vacation at all. He iscurrently on administrative leave from his job as a real estate broker for sexually harassing the office receptionist. To make matters worse, he now has no way to cover up the evidence that he’s been skimming money from his real estate transactions. He has kept the sexual harassment suit and the skimming from the company a secret from Vicki. He told her that he needs money for gambling debts. He had to sell the house to return most of the money to the company, but it wasn’t enough. Times are getting desperate.
His hope was to visit Elizabeth and ask for a loan to get through the next couple of months. Or maybe even to get her to fall in love with him again. Whatever it takes…
Vicki D’Adly
Short skirt, tight low-cut blouse, high heels, chunky jewelry, big hair, tabloid magazine in hand.
Who She Is:
Vicki is the (one year) younger sister of Elizabeth. As a child, she adored her older sister and was the best of friends. As they grew older, however, and discovered boys, the two of them drifted apart from each other. When Elizabeth married Robert Killingsworth and moved to California, they lost touch completely. After graduating high school, Vicki married her high school sweetheart, Norman, and remained in her hometown of Jersey City, New Jersey. Currently she is a part time homemaker taking care of her three boys and also works part time at the make-up counter of the mall’s department store. She is hopelessly addicted to daytime soap operas and talk shows. Her claim to fame is that she once appeared on the Jerry Springer Show – the episode titled “What I’d Do For a Buck” is still the talk of the beauty shop.
Vicki and Norman have been traveling around the country in their new RV. Yesterday, they arrived at Killingsworth Farms. Vicki is hoping to take this opportunity to build a better relationship with her sister.
Her Darker Side:
Elizabeth has not spoken to Vicki in years – ever since Vicki stole Elizabeth’s high school boyfriend, Norman. Vicki hated the fact that Elizabeth was in love with Norman and stopped spending time with you. Not only did Elizabeth despise Vicki for stealing Norman, but their parents resented it as well. At age 18 Vicki secretly eloped with Norman and has lived with him ever since. Vicki does not love Norman, but with three kids and no college education, she feels trapped. Norman, unfortunately, is an insecure loser. He has a gambling problem, and owes money to some very powerful people. Vicki has a plan to get out of this terrible situation, though. She has decided to drop by on Elizabeth and tell her that Norman was abusive in hopes of getting a loan, dumping dumb Norman, and moving out on her own – perhaps to California and become a soap opera actress… no… soap opera diva!
