Read on for selections from their nominations:
Chelsie Swenson
Minnesota Day Treatment Therapist
Nominated by Chelsea Bambenek
From Chelsea’s nomination:
“For several months, Chelsie has been the only therapist between the Midlevel, Bridges, and Elementary Day Treatment programs. Each client that is enrolled in programming has several items of paperwork that need to be completed by specific deadlines. Chelsie has been able to stay on top of all of the paperwork, develop fun and creative activities to engage the students, and keep a positive spirit throughout it all. She has gone above and beyond, and absolutely deserves to be nominated for the valuable work she has done.
I have had the opportunity to work alongside Chelsie for a couple of years, and she is an amazing team member, is creative in her approaches with clients, and puts all of her effort into the job she does.” Great job Chelsie!
Amy Smith
Day Treatment Mental Health Practitioner, YNC Rochester
Nominated by Kathryn Hollenhorst
From Kathryn’s nomination:
“Amy has spent time locating Community Service projects for our clients to be involved in which not only teach a skill but give back to the community. Some of the projects she has set up include making homemade baked dog treats that are then donated to the Paws and Claws animal shelter, creating stimulation bottles for the babies of teen mothers at the local alternative school, and weeding the garden at the local YMCA. These projects allow the clients to learn to create and give back, and earn them community work services hours that are court ordered. Amy also connected with Channel One food bank for our groceries, allowing us to get free daily produce products and reducing our food costs going forward. She creates nutritious meals that the clients love to eat and then once a week takes the outdated leftover food home to feed to her pigs which teaches the clients about farming and not being wasteful. The clients love filling up her slop bucket every Friday with food that would have just gone in the garbage.
Amy does an excellent job performing all her duties. I can always count of her to follow through and do her duties at a high level. It’s hard to find good staff but I know I have a gem with Amy and I sincerely believe she should be recognized for her efforts.” Awesome work Amy!
