First, the Nature-ly Active wellness initiative ended yesterday and tracking sheets are due to Kayla B at GVC by this Friday, November 3rd. She will be drawing for two winners on Monday the 6th.
Second, here are a couple suggestions for keeping your activity level up during the coming months.
- Just because the Nature-ly Active event is over doesn’t mean you have to stop using the tactics! Keep a cop of the activity tracker around to inspire you to spend time outside enjoying the beautiful Coulee Region even during the “dark months” (thought that sounded better than COLD months!)
- When the weather does prove to be a barrier use what you have at your disposal to be active indoors. At work you can walk around the building, take the stairs if you have them etc.
- In the wellness room at GVC we recently added a treadmill from a generous donor. Take your walk inside. Or schedule a stand up meeting there!
- Use the buddy system to stay motivated. If you have somebody else to be active with you may be more likely to stay engaged.
