Training Opportunity! Poverty Simulation – Thurs. Sept. 6th 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Poverty Simulation Opportunity by Great Rivers United Way

Poverty is a reality for many individuals and families. Unless, you have experienced poverty, it’s extremely difficult to really understand. This is a FREE opportunity for staff to get a sense of the realities faced by low-income people.

During this simulation exercise, participants will assume identities of family members for one “month.” During four 15- minute weeks they try to navigate daily life on a low-income budget.

If you would like to attend please RSVP by August 30th to Julie Nelson at jnelson@gruw.org or call 608-796-1400. This will be held at 1700 Oak Forest Drive, Onalaska, WI

  • All training’s, internal and external, needs to be approved by your Supervisor before attending.
  • Remember to share the most important things you took away from the training you attended with your team at the next staff meeting.
