The Clothesline Project is a display created by The Women’s Resource Center. A shirt is created and displayed representing every person murdered statewide as a result of domestic violence. The shirts are meant to bring awareness to the seriousness of domestic violence in our communities and as a way to remember and honor victims of domestic violence. Each shirt also gives a brief synopsis of how each victim died.
So far in 2016 there have been at least 12 documented murders in Minnesota due to domestic violence. In 2015 there were at least 34 murders in Minnesota due to domestic violence. All 2016 shirts are being displayed at FCC and a portion of the 2015 shirts are being displayed. The Clothesline Project will be on display at FCC’s Franklin Street Building throughout the rest of this week.
FCC’s Domestic Abuse Program fundraiser is also this month. Click here for details.
