Congratulations to Residential Staff of the Month: Derek Heitman!

This is the second time this year has been nominated and received the reward!! Here is what staff are saying about him:

“I’d like to nominate Derek for his leadership during each shift on the unit. Especially the last few days, Derek has shown extraordinary leadership when dealing with crisis situations. Both times Derek was working with staff who had yet to deal with a true crisis situation, he immediately took control of each situation and helped other staff throughout the shift. Not only does Derek demonstrate great leadership, he works well with all staff and he gets along great with all the kids on the unit”

“Derek is a strong and consistent staff whenever he works on the unit. His compassion for the residents is shown through his strong work ethic and he is a valuable addition to the team and works well in any situation that arises on the unit.”

“Derek is consistently early for shifts and stays late when needed. Derek has been able to develop a great rapport with all residents. Derek is able to follow proper procedure regarding special incidents and utilizes CPI procedures to prevent situations from even happening. Derek uses his time on the unit wisely. When he is unsure of something or has ideas on how to work with a resident differently he brings them up right away. “

CONGRATULATIONS to Hiawatha Hall September Staff of the Month Dawn Ring!

Dawn comes to work ready to engage with each of the residents. Dawn takes the time to make sure each of the residents have what they need. Dawn continues to do whatever is asked of her without any hesitation. Dawn currently works 29 hours a week while putting in 20 to 25 hours per week towards her internship. Dawn has taken on new responsibilities and excelled. Hiawatha Hall is lucky to have Dawn as a part of our team.
