Managing Your Stress
Stress is something we all encounter and it comes from a myriad of sources. The question most of us have is, how can we lessen the stress?
Find the cause
Try keeping a journal and write down the causes of your stress as they occur. Identifying the causes will make it much easier to avoid or manage your stressors.
Slow down
Life is busy. Even a 10-minute break can be extremely beneficial. When you start feeling overwhelmed, set what you are doing aside. Close your eyes, and take deep breaths. Deep breathing can slow down your heartrate and allows your body to rest. Consider unwinding with meditation, yoga, or massage.
Take time for yourself
Whether it is exercising, reading, being around family, or watching a movie, take time every day for something you enjoy. This will not only improve your mood, but can also improve your physical health.
Talk about it with a friend or family member
Everyone manages stress differently, so the tips from others may help you find new ways to cope
