New Training Program – Bias, Privilege and Being More Thoughtful

Recent events in our country have brought about many changes in our lives. Altered routines, financial hardships and a sense of isolation are just the primary effects. We have also seen fear, anger, a feeling of deep divide and concerns of injustice. We recognize that the worst of the effects may not be common in our world, it is important that we not only acknowledge these things, but also seek a better understanding of current issues as well as ourselves.

The agency has taken a couple steps to support staff. First, we have put together a list (follows this post) of resources that you may find informative and helpful. It includes everything from books and on-line articles to videos and a few Relias offerings. We are also offering a course titled “Bias, Privilege and Being More Thoughtful”.  The course will help participants better understand current issues as well as themselves. Ideally, you will also make more thoughtful decisions going forward which, in turn, will help assures we continue to make the agency a better place for employees and clients.

Two sessions of Bias, Privilege and Being More Thoughtful will be presented by Leah Morken, PhD, and will be offered via Zoom as follows:
