NEW Employee Recruitment Incentives

Those of you in programs are keenly aware of the difficulty we have had in sourcing candidates for positions, particularly for part time roles and shifts outside the norm. As a way to address this issue we are implementing incentives to attract and retain candidates for Certain positions. From time to time we will designate “Hot Jobs” which will qualify for incentives. These jobs will be determined by the senior team, and will include positions which are particularly difficult to fill and/or critical in terms of timing.  As a result, a given position may be considered a Hot Job at one point in time but not at another depending on the circumstances. Openings will be designated as a Hot Job when they are posted so you will know.  Our hope is to bolster our recruiting efforts so that these extraordinary measures are not needed, but when needed we will put them in place.

Incentives will come in two forms. A referral bonus for existing staff who refer an applicant who is ultimately hired, and a retention incentive for those who stay with the agency at least two years.

The referral bonus will pay staff members $150 after the first three months and another $150 after the second three months for a total of $300 provided the new hire is making satisfactory progress in performance and training. This will be paid as regular compensation so you will have the usual payroll withholding in effect for these payments. The only thing you have to do to be eligible is to make sure the applicant puts your name on their application as the person who referred her or him.

The retention bonus for those who are here two years is $2,000 if originally hired into a full time role and $1,000 if hired into a part time role. It will be paid in one lump sum after the 24th month assuming satisfactory progress in performance and training. And yes, the two incentives can work together. In other words, if you refer a candidate who is hired for a Hot Job, she or he will also be eligible for the retention incentive.
