From the desk of… Jon Evans, Development Director

Jon EvansGreetings from Development! Six months have passed since I last wrote to you and what a six months it has been. Like all of you, Development has been busy. Busy with events, public relations, marketing, coordinating grants, and building relationships in our communities. I would to thank the members of Development (Kelsey, Melanie, and our newest member Sue). Their hard work has contributed to the successes of Family & Children’s Center thus far! Many others too numerous to list here have also contributed. By writing grants, providing success stories, staffing events, and telling our story we are positioned to provide funding for the services our clients need and want.

These six months have allowed me to participate in some of the best events in our communities. From the Lube-a-Thon, Lego events, Monte Carlo, Paint the Town Purple, United Way Employee Giving Campaign, and other pop up events such as Giving Tuesday and Share the Love video, each one plays a key role in funding and public relations which continue to strengthen our support from donors.

Our year end appeal is hitting homes as I write to coincide with the giving season. Why is it called the giving season? Regardless of how you express the season’s greetings – the theme is the same. Love for one another! This is probably why you each chose this type of career, to help people. So as you enjoy the holiday season remember those who do not have as much or are less fortunate than we. I urge each of you to make a gift this year. Whether you choose Family & Children’s Center or not (I prefer you do), make a gift. The amount is not what is important, but that you made a gift from the heart! With so much angst in the world today always remember that love and sharing will win out and make you feel much better. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
