A Night Out on the Town: Paint the Town Purple
Family & Children’s Center’s second annual fundraiser to raise money for Vernon County’s Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) returns this weekend. A Night Out on the Town: Paint the Town Purple will be held Saturday, October 24 at 5 p.m. at the VFW in Viroqua, Wisconsin.
Presented by the Partnership for Peaceful Homes, the event features a sit down dinner, silent auction, live auction, 50/50 raffle and a brief presentation about the project.
This fundraiser takes place each year in October, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The DAP seeks to end abuse by providing survivors — including children and adults — support, a safe place to discuss their situation, tools to achieve a less violent environment and community education and awareness. The project last year served 84 adults and 25 children.
The Partnership for Peaceful Homes is an alliance between Family & Children’s Center, the DAP and the Vernon County Domestic Abuse Project task force. The DAP is funded by a grant through the state and administered by Family & Children’s Center.
