We have made important changes to the Referral Program effective March 1, 2021:
- the amount we pay employees will be doubled from $500 to $1,000, and
- referring employees will be asked to assist with onboarding during the new employee to help assure a smooth start.
We believe these changes provide a mechanism for getting existing employees involved with new hires, and also makes the new hire feel more welcome.
An excerpt of the revised procedure regarding the new Referral Incentive follows. Retention payments will continue as is, and the entire updated procedure will be distributed to you by email.

EXCERPT:
- All agency employees will be eligible for a referral bonus for any open position, provided the requirements stated above are met. It is also updated to include onboard support of the new hire from employees. This is an important part of providing a powerful “welcome”.
- The Referral Incentive will be a total of $1,000, and paid in two increments – the first one after three months of employment and the second half after a total of six months of employment. The Referral Incentive will be paid assuming the new hire is making satisfactory progress and the referring employee is in good standing. Referring employees will be provided with a summary of the contacts required along with potential talking points for each contact.
- Week 1 – A “live” contact during the first week will be made. The contact could be in person or on the phone, but is expected to demonstrate a personal connection. Again, this does not have to be in person, and could occur after hours.
- Week 2 – An email contact during the new employee’s second week will be made, and will confirm that the new employee has the referring employee’s email
- Week 5 – During the new employee’s fifth week the referring employee will make a phone contact, and as before, the contact may be made after regular work hours.
- Week 8 – A final reach out by either in person, via phone or via email will be made during the new employee’s 8th
- To initiate the first payment, referring employees will be sent an email to remind them to document their contacts and return an email to the Senior HR Specialist.
