Employee Day is Wednesday, June 17

A number of question have come in so we thought we should put all of the info in one note so everyone knows where to go for answers and everyone has the same understanding of the day.  With that in mind we captured the details in Q&A fashion for ease of use. If the following does not address a specific question you have please feel free to ask your supervisor or director for an answer. Thanks for looking this over!

Q&A

Q: When is the event?

A: Employee Day is Wednesday, June 17 at the La Crescent Event Center which is located at 595 Veterans Parkway in La Crescent, Minnesota.

Q: What Time is the event?

A: There is an all-hands meeting in the morning starting at 8 am and finishing up at 1130 am. Following the meeting the Loggers game starts at 1205 pm. The end time is uncertain but on average their games typically last 2.5 hours.

Q: How do I get a ticket for the game?

A: Game tickets must be reserved via the following link and can be sent to either your personal or work email. You can enter the park by either printing your ticket in advance or showing the ticket on your phone.

Q: Can I sit with somebody in particular at the game?

A: The seats reserved for FCC are in a particular area set aside for us, but you don’t really have a way of knowing who has the seat next to you until you get to the game. You can, however, move around during the game if you choose. The only caveat is that there could be non-FCC guests in our area so be respectful of others if that happens!

Q: Will I be paid for mileage or travel time for the day?

A: You will not be paid mileage for going to the meeting, but you will be paid for your driving time if you are coming from a location other than La Crosse.

Q: How do I enter my time for the day?

A: Everyone who attends the day’s events is eligible for 8 hours – 5 for the meeting (including driving time) and 3 hours for the ball game. We are planning to enter information centrally for that day so you do not have to worry about punching in or out.

Q: Do I have to go to the meeting?

A: Yes – this is considered an all-hands meeting. The ball game is optional, though.

Q: Do I have to attend the ball game?

A: Well…you are strongly encouraged to do so and enjoy an afternoon outside being with your coworkers. However, if you decide not to attend the ball game you can take 3 hours of vacation.

Q: Can I return to work after the meeting?

A: In some cases, yes, but you will be asked to confirm with your Director if there is work for you to do. Our offices will generally be closed that day so there is minimal opportunity work, and it must be approved in advance.

Q: What if I have school or other conflicts on that day?

A: If this is the case please discuss the circumstances with your supervisor. We expect there will be some part time employees who will not be able to attend.

Q: How will we handle part time employees?

A: Part time employees who attend will also be paid 8 hours if attending the ball game or 5 hours if attending only the meeting. Part time employees may need to flex their time and should discuss this with their supervisor.

Q: Can we use agency cars for attending the event?

A: Yes – but not everybody may be able to fit in or use an agency car, but carpooling will be expected to use your own transportation that day. Carpooling is certainly encouraged!

Q: Can I wear shorts and flip flops to the meeting?

A: No – your usual work attire is required, but you should have “ball game clothes” that you can change into after the meeting.
