- This is a hard one, but I would choose maple and chipotle mashed sweet potatoes.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
- I have been to China, Tanzania, and Cuba! Out of all those cool places, I can honestly say my favorite place to be is La Crosse because it has everything I love! If I had to choose a place other than La Crosse, I would choose between Arusha, Tanzania, and Cuba. The jungle and Mount Meru in Tanzania are so beautiful and I absolutely love the people, culture, and Swahili language. Cuba as a whole is so gorgeous with its beaches, jungles, waterfalls and valleys, and with the island being as small as it is it is easy to travel to see it all. In addition, there are NO poisonous animals in all of Cuba and the civilian crime rate is extremely low.
What animal do you think most closely matches your personality?
- I always say I am a lot like my cat, because we both like sleeping, cuddling, and massages!
What TV show or movie do you absolutely refuse to watch?
- I do not watch horror movies anymore because I used to almost every weekend with a friend in high school and started having frequent nightmares!
What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
- Last May, my husband and I were on vacation and found someone on Craigslist to give us a ride from one town to our destination since there was no public transport or taxi options. We backpacked with 50 pounds on each of our backs plus a 60-pound duffel bag between the two of us for two hours to our camping spot on Shi Shi Beach (WA) and then did it back again after two days. We had to gather and boil our water from a stream, and hiked with our 50-pound packs up and down the mountain in Olympic National Park to the Olympic Hot Springs all in one day, which was 16 miles in total! Over the duration of our trip, we used eight different modes of transportation: airplane, metro train, ferry, bus, car, walking, city bus, and Amtrak train.

What did you want to be when you grew up when you were in elementary school?
- I always wanted to be a teacher. In high school, I specifically wanted to be a Spanish teacher. After finishing two years of college on the Spanish education track and working part-time as an after-school Spanish teacher, I realized I did not want to do that full-time and decided I wanted to do social work instead!
