If you guessed Andrea Garcia Malledo, you are correct! Andrea is the Program Supervisor at Hiawatha Hall. She has been in this role for about 3 months and absolutely loves it! Andrea is currently excited about getting more clients at Hiawatha Hall and one of her favorite things about working there is watching the clients improve as they move forward in the program.
During her free time, you will most likely find her reading a book. The last book she read was Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maa and the next book on her list is The Wicked King by Holly Black. If she is not reading, she might be attending a concert or daydreaming about seeing the Eiffel Tower in person! She loves to travel and hopes to visit Paris, France and Barcelona, Spain one day.

Who inspires you?
- My mom inspires me the most. When I was seven years old, she had to make the tough decision to move my family to the United States, leaving family, friends and her career as a Veterinarian behind.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
- Puerto La Cruz in Venezuela! The ocean waves are amazing and the memories I have there with my family are some of the best.
If you could be any animal, which would you be?
- A wolf, I think they are fierce, but at the same time look like enormous dogs.
What is your favorite movie?
- The Princess Bride! I like the way the story is told and it is very quotable.
What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
- I was in a theater group in college and during orientation weekend we did a show called E. Pluribus for the first years. The goal of the show was to show first years they can relate to people on campus. One of the pieces we did was about body positivity and how everyone’s bodies are different, but we all belong at Gustavus College. For this piece, we all walked out on stage in our underwear, a crazy moment I will never forget!
Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
- Gina Rodriguez, I think she is very talented and I am curious to know what it’s like to be such a big actress!
What is your secret talent that no one knows about?
- Video games and plant care! I have about 20 plants at home; some would say my apartment is a tasteful jungle.
What is your favorite family tradition?
- My favorite family tradition was watching TV on Sunday nights with my parents. We would watch the Latino version of Dancing with the Stars, called Mira Quien Baila or Nuestra Belleza Latina.
What do you like on your pizza?
- Garlic parmesan sauce, spinach and ham… although you can’t go wrong with steak and bacon!
