Do You Know…

That’s right, it’s Lisa Johanningmeier! Lisa is a Coordinator/Case Manager at our Vernon County Domestic Abuse Project in Viroqua and she’s been a part of FCC since June 2019. Thank you, Lisa, for all your hard work!

When Lisa isn’t hard at work at DAP, she can be found enjoying horseback rides (as often as possible!), spending time on the river, listening to live music and dancing, and spending as much time as she can with her children and grandchildren.

Who inspires you?

  • Both of my grandmothers inspire me. They were both very strong, devoted, kind, and loving women. They never complained, regardless of life’s circumstances.

 

Where is your favorite place in the world?

  • On a beach!

 

What animal do you think most closely matches your personality?

  • A horse: free spirited, sensitive of people’s emotions, and strong willed.

 

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

  • I once got up on stage at a live concert of a popular rock band and performed a song with them in front of a huge crowd!

 

What is part of your daily routine that you look forward to every day?

  • Relaxing music and morning coffee.

 

What is one hobby you would love to get into?

  • I would like to train a service puppy and learn to sew.

 

What is your secret talent?

  • Not really a secret talent, but I have been making homemade scented soy candles for the past 20 years and at one point that is how I supported my family! 

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in one thing, what would it be?

  • Healing emotional pain and despair

 

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

  • I always host Christmas Eve supper where we eat, open gifts, and play games. On Christmas day we attend church, have a late dinner, and spend more time with family and friends.

 

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?

  • I ride horses as often as possible, spend time on the river, listen to live music and dance, ride motorcycles, and mostly love to spend as much time as possible with my children and grand children.

 

What is the coolest thing you are working on in your program right now?

  • Growing the support groups and work shops. Collaborating with community partners and survivors to bring awareness and education to Vernon county as well as the surrounding counties.

 

What do you like on your pizza?

  • Italian sausage and mushrooms

 

Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter: What’s your favorite season and why?

  • I love having all the seasons and that is what keeps me living in this beautiful area.

 

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy?

  • A new home for my parents.

 

What activity helps you relieve stress?

  • Cleaning

 

What is your favorite dessert?

  • Homemade German Chocolate cake

 

Where were you born and what is an interesting fact about your home town?

  • Colorado Springs, Colorado, and it is one of my favorite places to visit. Colorado is home to beautiful places, like Pikes Peak, the Rocky Mountains and Garden of the Gods.
