It’s Abby Titter! Abby is a Case Manager in our HUB program and has been with FCC since September, 2018. While Abby used to enjoy novelty, traveling and adventure, she now cherishes the smaller things in life. When she is not working hard at FCC you may find her hiking, at the beach or gardening. She loves nature! If any of you have seen her office, you know she has a secret talent of interior decorating, which is another one of her hobbies.
More Fun Facts About Abby:
Who inspires you?
- My Aunt Chris inspires me. She is the strong, wise, down to earth person that I strive to be. I admire her professionally and personally. She has worked as a social worker most of her life and has shown real compassion, openness, and understanding in both her professional and personal life. She always brings fun and excitement with her wherever she goes. For the last two summers, she and her husband have spent months trekking the Appalachian Mountains and during her free time she volunteers her time to many causes; one of them being disaster relief with the Red Cross. She is my motivation to be resilient and adventurous and I could never say enough to do her justice.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
- Europe! I lived in southern Germany for over a year and during that time I got to travel a lot, learn the local customs and culture of various countries. I am just enamored with all things European. My other great love is the ocean. I feel I belong there. I love to snorkel and scuba dive, as well as bum around on the sand or comb the beach for shells. My son and I go to Florida as often as possible and snorkel various places. I would love to get out to the Great Barrier Reef someday. I really want to swim with sharks!
What animal do you think most closely matches your personality?
- Definitely a cat. I love to sleep, lay around, and have things done for me. I also really love to cuddle and snuggle! As a 12 year old that does not want to cuddle with his mother, my son is not a fan of this personality trait….anymore! But like a cat, I do what I want… so he is stuck cuddling with me whether he likes it or not.
What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
- I once took a random road trip with absolutely no plans or destination! I packed a few things in my car one day, picked a direction, and started driving. I ended up traveling down to Key West and back over a month’s time, camping at state parks in various states the whole way. It was quite the adventure! I saw a lot of cool things, met a lot of amazing people, and experienced many new things!
What is one hobby you would love to get into?
- I have always wanted to be more active! I am one of those people that only runs if being chased by something, so I am trying to get into running a little more. In my younger years, I was very artistic and creative. I have lost most of my motivation to draw or paint on my own at home, but I think I would love a good painting class. I have often thought that archery, or shooting at a gun range would be a lot of fun too!
If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
- Life! Wouldn’t we all want to be experts at life? Otherwise, I would say communication.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working?
- I love to spend quality time with my girlfriends, trying out new restaurants and cooking together at home. I also love hanging out with my son (who is 12). During the isolation of COVID-19, I have been playing a lot of Nintendo Wii with him!
What do you like on your pizza?
- I am a bit of a foodie and I love to try weird and crazy toppings. I love a good oily/white mushroom pizza or something like pears and gorgonzola cheese. Otherwise, my go to is ham, salami, and gorgonzola, or a good tuna fish pizza. I know that sounds weird, but it’s really good!
What activity helps you relieve stress?
- Eating a really good meal with a great friend!
