Family and Children’s Center will be closed on Monday, December 25th for Christmas, and will also be closed on Tuesday, December 26th in recognition of the Christmas Eve holiday which falls on Sunday this year.
It’s never too early to plan for days off around year’s end, and with Christmas falling around a weekend, the week after will be a popular time for burning some of your accumulated hours. You should be coordinating your time off with others to assure you have the proper coverage for your program, department, local office, etc. With the exception of the two days mentioned above all locations are expected to be operating on a normal schedule.
Finally, look ahead to assure you don’t lose accrued vacation hours by finding yourself at year’s end with a bunch more hours than expected. This would be a good time to brush up on the Vacation Policy but here’s a tip: full time employees can carry over up to 60 hours and part time up to 30 hours. The final cutoff is the pay period following the one that includes New Year’s Day. For January 2018 this is the 20th.
