Shout out to Elizabeth Strand who recently passed the masters level social worker exam and, once all the paperwork is processed by WI DHS, she will be an advanced practice social worker (APSW)! Regarding her role in Outpatient, this means she can practice while receiving clinical supervision from a licensed clinical social worker. After 3000 hours of supervised practice she can then take the clinical social work exam in order to become a licensed clinical social worker, which is her goal.
“I am happy and excited to officially be a social worker now, and to be able to continue in my work toward my goal. I really enjoy the work I am doing; for me, it just fits.” Way to go, Elizabeth!
Another big shout out to Carrie Bailey and Tim Hall, who were selected for the 2021-2022 Comprehensive DBT Learning Collaborative sponsored by Wisconsin DBT Consortium, the Great Lakes Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (GLMHTTC), and the Behavioral Health Training Partnership (BHTP) at UW – Green Bay.
This has required a large commitment from both of them as it has required multiple training days, weekly individual and group DBT sessions with clients, between session phone coaching as needed for individual clients, weekly team consultation meetings, monthly group supervision, and more.
Thank you, Carrie and Tim, for all the hard work you have put in! Their DBT group has been up and running for approximately the last four months.
