Who inspires you?
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, my mom is my biggest inspiration. She was diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis 21 years ago and because of this she has been wheelchair bound for the past 12 years, has tremors in both of her arms, can hardly see, and is in pain all day long. Despite all of this, I have NEVER heard my mom complain, she only has kind and positive things to say about everyone she knows and everyone she meets, she would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, and she has a smile that lights up a room. She takes on every day with the conviction to make it better than the last. I will never have to look farther than my mom to know that I have the courage to take on whatever comes my way, and that is why she is my biggest inspiration.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world is Lucca, Italy. When I studied abroad in Italy during the spring of 2019, I traveled to Lucca several times to take cooking classes. The hills of Lucca is the most serene place that I have ever been. I often dream of sipping vino and making homemade pasta there again! Also, each family that I took a cooking class with lived on an olive farm so they always had homemade olive oil…it was incredible!

What is one hobby you would love to get into?
I would love to get in to making pottery! I have an entire Pinterest board filled with ideas of things I would love to create. My aunt is incredible at making all kinds of pottery and she brought me to the La Crosse Clay Center a while back in an attempt to show me the ropes. It was much harder than I thought it would be!! Hopefully as time goes on I will get better.
What is your favorite family tradition?
My favorite family tradition is our “Christmas Day Competition.” My family decided a while back that we wanted to start doing a partner competition on Christmas day each year. We each have a partner in the family who we compete with and the challenge changes every year. Our first year we did a pajama competition, then a gingerbread house competition, then picture drawing competition!
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working?
My favorite thing to do when I’m not working is visit breweries around Wisconsin! I have become a big fan of craft beer over the past few years and it’s a fun way to travel and see new places. One of my favorite breweries is The Brewing Projekt in my college town of Eau Claire!
What activity helps you relieve stress?
Taking my family’s dogs on walks at my family’s land is one of my favorite ways to relieve stress. Not only do I get to be out in nature walking on trails, but I get to be with my super lovey and energetic dogs too. There’s no better combination!

What is your favorite dessert?
My dessert of choice is definitely brownies with powdered sugar on top. The more chocolate, the better!
