It has truly been an honor, privilege, and positive learning experience for me to serve as your Board Chair in 2019 and 2020. Although I am still a Board member, Tanner Holst became Chair at the beginning of 2021. One piece of unfinished business for me is to reflect on my term as Board Chair and to celebrate the great organization that FCC is and has been for many years. The amazing staff is what makes that possible. THANK YOU!
I think we will all agree that 2020 was a year like we have never experienced in our lifetime. The COVID pandemic literally changed our world and the way we live. It also changed our jobs, some more than others. The FCC Staff navigated us through 2020 in an almost unbelievable way. Many of you experienced significant job changes—— adjustments to the programs that you work in, changes in your working hours and locations where you do your work, increased stress and pressure in your job dealing with things we have never experienced before, less direct interaction with your colleagues, and the list goes on. Together we were able to minimize disruption of the important services that we deliver to our clients and also minimize the negative financial impact on FCC. Through the amazing commitment and teamwork of the FCC Staff, we made it through a difficult year. There are many challenges still ahead, some related to COVID but also many other challenges in the work we do. We have proven as a team that we can endure almost anything — we can survive and thrive. You should all know that Tita was very appreciative of your work and communicated that to the Board every time she talked to us. Tita is a great advocate for the entire FCC team.
On behalf of the entire Board, we all say THANK YOU and keep up the great work! We are all very proud of you and proud to be linked as Board members to the work that you do.
