Holiday Traditions, Memories & Recipes- 2022

As long as I could remember, my grandma always had homemade candy at her house during the holidays. My grandparents owned a meat market in Little Chute, WI and my grandma would sell her homemade candy at the shop during the holiday season. Growing up, it was a tradition in my family to make candy during the holiday season and this tradition has been passed to me and my siblings and we continue this tradition every year. I have been teaching my own children the secrets to making the candy and they enjoy it every year.  The two secrets to making holiday candy: patience and a good candy thermometer!  After my grandma passed at the age of 96, all of her recipes, to include her candy recipes, were collected and made into a recipe book so they could be passed on to many more generations to come!
