Pfizer Booster Available

For those who have been fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine you may now be eligible to receive a booster. FCC staff are considered front-line employees so contact your provider at your earliest convenience about available schedules. In addition, the following guidelines are being used to determine eligibility:

  • Anyone age 65 and older
  • People age 18 through 64 with certain medical conditions that put them at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
  • People age 18 through 64 with high risk of COVID-19 exposure at work or in congregate care or living settings. This could include, but are not limited to, frontline healthcare workers; educators; daycare providers; those experiencing homelessness who are living in a shelter; and long-term care facility residents
  • 6 months since most recent dose

If you get a vaccine during work hours you will have to use sick time or vacation (if applicable) or be unpaid for the time away. The federal government provided some programs to compensate businesses for time lost but those programs are no longer in effect.

There is currently no official guidance for boosters to those who received a Moderna or J&J vaccine, but new information is released regularly so please be watching the news to stay on top of that availability.
