New Employees – August 8, 2022

Sydney Bina   Mental Health Rehab Worker, Hiawatha Hall

Sydney recently moved to Winona to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Movement Science, at WSU.  She moved from Austin, MN and no we didn’t talk about Spam!  We did talk about bucket list items and she has checked off her list – skydiving!  Something she said she will probably never do again.

Kelsie Bolstad   Case Manager, Day Treatment

Kelsie is a graduate of UW-L and is now pursuing an MSW at WSU.  FCC will also be her site for her internship so she will certainly get her fill with the adolescent population.  Prior to us, Kelsie worked for the La Crosse School District and was a school mascot – a wolf – at the elementary level.  Being around kids continues as she is a dance teacher, too.

Heidi Salis   Case Manager, HUB La Crosse

Heidi has an extremely varied background, having been a day care teacher, a team leader at Goodwill and even a foster mom to 2 girls! Did we mention she also has three boys of her own? Heidi talked about a dynamic job market shew as driven to join the FCC team as she feels the work we do is important. She is an avid football fan, and has 5 teams she favors. Although the Bears aren’t in that group the Pack and Vikings are both in it!

Sydni Durrstein   Therapist, Outpatient Counseling – La Crosse

Sydni is our newest Therapist at GVC having recently graduated with a Master’s from UW Platteville. She was familiar with FCC from having worked at UWL for a number of years, and looks forward to a working with a varied population here. She lives in Fountain City and there may not be a lot in that area, but she has been in a number of countries on the European continent. She also recently celebrated the birth of her son about 4 months ago so ask to see some pictures!

Joshua “Teddy” Colon   Direct Care Staff, Day Treatment

Joshua actually goes by “Teddy” which is a nickname he picked up some years ago and is very comfortable with. The physical resemblance to a “teddy bear” probably has nothing to do with it! Teddy found FCC on Indeed and had previously worked at Taco Bell and some other food service places. He feel working with clients will be a natural fit and is looking forward to it. Teddy is a technology nut and loves gaming – we can probably make use of those skills!
